One of the great things about agency life is getting the chance to work with people who are true specialists in their field and are passionate about their subject. That’s why we’re so pleased to announce that Adam Singer is joining LEWIS as Social Media Practice Director for the US.
Adam brings a combination of practical social media experience and creative thinking. He has successfully implemented campaigns for dozens of B2B and B2C brands, founded one of the top social marketing blogs and is a regularly-cited authority on social media. He is also a self-confessed measurement fanatic. He’ll put all of that to great use at LEWIS. Adam will be focused on evolving our existing social media best practices across the US and leading social media campaigns for clients. He’ll also work alongside the LEWIS digital, innovation and client servicing teams around the world to grow our thought leadership.
I’m going to let Adam himself tell you a little more about his background and decision to join LEWIS. You can also read the press release about his appointment here.
Welcome on board, Adam!
I’m excited to be joining the forward-thinking team at LEWIS PR as Social Media Practice Director, a move that takes me from Minneapolis to San Francisco.
As in introduction I thought I’d share a brief history of my journey to this point with LEWIS team members, clients and fans of the brand.
A brief background on my journey here…
As a net-native I’ve been using the web daily, in a social context, for well over a decade. I was growing digital communities (forums and boards) since before the popularization of modern social channels and have been an avid technology early adopter all my life. I also grew up experimenting with/creating digital content and applications.
Professionally, I have experience as both a digital PR strategist and online marketing manager for top-rated B2C and B2B brands globally. I’ve consulted for a diverse mix of companies – from major consumer brands such as International Dairy Queen who I guided as a digital strategist from zero participation in social media to successful adoption and integration at the corporate level, to tech start-ups like marketing automation software provider Marketo where I led a team at TopRank Online Marketing to help the brand disrupt existing industry players.
I’m creator of The Future Buzz, an award-winning blog read by 50 to 200K VPM where I share insight and analysis on digital PR and marketing. My goal with blogging is to inspire a community of those passionate about the intersection of technology and communications. To continue this offline, I’ve keynoted vertical-specific events, such as the LeadingRe annual conference, and presented on panels at marketing and tech events such as the Integrated Marketing Summit and Search Engine Strategies.
Why LEWIS PR?
I’ve enjoyed working for boutique consultancies where I was afforded the agility to put creative ideas into action, break rules and change things – both internally and for clients. As I’ve grown I’ve had the itch to work on a larger scale. This involved seeking a global consultancy, yet one still embracing an entrepreneurial spirit. LEWIS seemed like the perfect fit and after discussions with the leadership team in San Francisco, I am confident they foster the creative environment necessary to achieve world-class social media results for clients.
Although I’ve most recently been at an agency focused on both online marketing and PR, from an industry standpoint I see PR as the natural leader of social media efforts. In a world where every company is a media company, PR professionals are in the unique position to lead the charge and provide strategies/ongoing services to help brands stand out, build community and gain a competitive advantage.
LEWIS is also in growth mode (as noted most recently by the acquisition of Silicon Valley firm PageOne and already a leader in the digital PR space. Client mix includes well-known brands in a variety of sectors, from consumer technology to travel. And while social strategies and services are already being implemented, the LEWIS team is constantly evolving its approach to adapt to a shifting media landscape. It’s an exciting time with an agency at the edge.
As someone with a passion for digital marketing and PR, I’m looking forward to bringing fresh perspectives and social media leadership to the LEWIS team, helping grow business in the US and achieve success for client programs.
