Your votes have been tallied and the semi-finals of LEWIS PR’s inaugural Tech Madness tournament have come to a close. It has been a long road to the final, but now only two of the original 16 tech trends remain in the hunt for the title of Top Tech Trend of Today.
While the winners of the first two rounds were determined by analytics and number crunching, the only metric used to decide the two semifinal winners was your votes.
Here are some of the semifinal highlights:
Only Top Seeds Remain
After three rounds of tough competition, the two trends advancing to the finals both started the tournament as No. 1 seeds. Both Tablets and Mobile Applications have proven that they are not going away anytime soon.
Clock Strikes Twelve on Voice Control
Every NCAA tournament has a Cinderella story, and our first ever Tech Madness competition was no different. In the first two rounds, Voice Control took down two giants of the tech industry with wins over Virtualization and Cloud Computing, but the trend’s run was put to an end by Tablets in the Final Four. Was Voice Control’s performance this year a flash in the pan? Or is it a trend with staying power? We will have to wait until next year to find out.
All Mobile Final
The performance of mobile technologies has been a story throughout this competition, and with both Tablets and Mobile Apps advancing we are set for an all-mobile Final.
Here is a look at the bracket so you can see each trend’s path to the Finals:
Just like the Final Four, the winner of the Championship matchup will be determined by your votes.
It’s a matchup of Hardware vs. Software, and it is up to you to decide: What is hotter right now, the devices themselves or the apps that they run?
